First, you really need two people to put this together easily. Me, my son, and a cordless screwdriver with an Allen key bit took a bit over 2 hours to build it, but a half hour of that was untightening screws and then fitting in pieces then re-tightening the screws. It says clearly in the directions not to overtighten screws until the end, which being two men, we ignored. It doesn’t look like it’s going together right until the end, but then it all straightens out and comes together.
I was able to throw away my box springs and just put the mattress on the slats. It’s super supportive and comfortable, and I’ve had nothing but great night sleeps. It’s also a great looking piece in the bedroom. Gives a warmth and coziness to the bedroom overall.
