The bed is solidly constructed, well made, and well engineered to feel sturdy and comfortable. Its perfect as a visitors bed for a short stay, but the matress needs an extra thick topper to really be comfortable.

Overall, this cabinet bed has worked out pretty well. It did arrive with one pretty bad scratch, but fortunately it’s in an obscured area, so not really noticeable one assembled. The main reason for not getting 5 stars is due to the fact that the screws to attach the knobs on the large forward-facing panel were too short. Fortunately, I had a few in my spares bin that threaded properly and were the right length, otherwise it would have meant a trip to the hardware store. Also, presumably this product is all hardwood, but since every surface is painted, it’s hard to tell. A handful of screws stripped the wood when applying light torque to sinch them down. Longer wood screws should be considered, and darker furniture bolts (rather than unfinished silver color) would have blended better with the overall finished look of the product.

We bought this as a guest bed since we don’t have a guest bedroom, but tend to have lots of guests due to our location. It came quickly, was fairly easy to assemble solo and is super comfortable! Mattress doesn’t not come with it, but there is enough space to store the mattress and pillows or bedding if need be. Beautiful piece that we have in our living area and no one guesses that it’s a Murphy bed until we tell them. Great purchase!
