Blue skies –
When I took this 5-inch memory foam mattress topper out of the vacuum-sealed packaging, the corners fluffed up to about 4 inches pretty quickly while the center lagged behind at around 3 inches. You’re supposed to leave it out for 2 to 3 days after unboxing to let it fully expand on its own. But we were impatient, so the kids and I stomped on it and massaged it for a couple of minutes and surprisingly, that actually helped fluff it up much faster. It did eventually expand to, or close to, the promised 5 inches.
We still didn’t use it for a few days because it had a strong, factory-like smell right out of the bag. It’s not exactly unpleasant, but definitely noticeable. I sprayed air sanitizer all over it and let it air out before putting it on the bed, and that seemed to help the smell a lot.
At first, even after manually fluffing it and letting it expand for a few days, it didn’t look nearly as plush as the product photos. But once I placed it on top of my mattress and secured it with the corner straps, it suddenly transformed and looked just as full and fluffy as advertised.
Additionally, I realized that the way the mattress topper feels depends a lot on what you put it on, probably because the foam pieces compress pretty easily. The product by itself feels exactly like what it is: small foam pieces in a sack. It’s not particularly comfortable alone. It felt so hard when it was laid on the floor. But when I placed it on top of a medium-firm foam mattress, it felt super soft and plush, like a completely different product. On my firmer foam mattress, it’s not as soft, but I still find it pretty comfortable.
I do think it needs occasional refluffing or rotating to keep it feeling fresh over time. I’ve been using it for about three months now and have only flipped it once, and it still feels soft and cushy.
Here are random things unrelated to the comfort of this product that I wanted to mention. I found a few stray foam pieces loose in the packaging, but it didn’t seem like they came from the topper itself and probably just got in there during packing. I also noticed that the fabric on the top and underside of the mattress topper seem to be made from different materials. The underside looks noticeably lumpier and feels like it’s made from a thinner fabric, even though both sides contain the same amount of foam.

The mattress that I have purchased was to firm. When my children would come over, they would complain how hard the bed was that they did not want to sleep in it. I had purchased this memory foam mattress topper, and it was a game changer. Now my children fight over who wants to sleep on it. It is very comfortable And curves to your body. I am so glad that I had purchased it, it’s like sleeping on a cloud.

Bought this for my child’s twin bed as a replacement for the foam pad that had gotten dirty. This cover isn’t as thick of course but it’s still thick enough and I love the way it wraps around the mattress.

I don’t know who likes more, me or my cat. As soon as I put it on the bed my cat jumped up on it and stayed the rest of the day. It might be almost too comfortable, the second night I slept on it I woke up at eleven a.m. and was extremely late for work. Anyway, I absolutely love it!

As soon as you lay on it you are luxuriously cradled in soft but perfectly firm support. My body said a big “AAAHHHHH” and for the first time in years…I fully relaxed. The first night I slept un-interrupted from 3 hours to 6 hours, which is twice my restless normal. Thankfully it doesn’t make us sweat, but stays cool to warm, without getting too hot. Overall this is the best purchase we have made for our bed, other than our mattress. This topper saved us having to get a new mattress and saved me from having to take back pain medication just to get through the night.

It’s exactly as described! Great fit, it’s waterproof but you wouldn’t be able to tell! It fluffed up perfectly over a day or so. I could not be more pleased.

I was almost ready to order a new mattress due to sagging in the middle. I decided to check out mattress toppers 1st & came across this 5″ thick topper so decided to give it a try. I’m so glad I did. I don’t need support & sleep much better on something softer. The 1st few nights it took a little getting used to but then it was like sleeping on a cloud. I love this topper. As soon as I get up the pillow squares puff back up immediately. The 1 problem I had was that I can’t get the straps to stay under the corners of my mattress. It’s no big deal as the topper stays in place without the straps. I highly recommend this topper if you like something softer like I do.

WOW this mattress topper is EXACTLY what I was looking for! You cannot beat it for the price. It is so thick and adds so much support. The memory foam pieces keep the topper fluffy at all times and helps keep its shape throughout the night. I have slept on this for weeks before writing a review to see how it lasted. I have a $4400 14 inch Sealy Tempurpedic mattress and my left hip would still ache due to torn ligaments but once I put this 5 inch thick memory foam pad on top, my left hip ached no more and it’s so soft and cozy I can easily fall asleep watching TV worth every penny especially at half price I highly recommend it even if you don’t have torn ligaments in your hip like I do 👍
