    To be fair, upfront, let me say that buying a mattress is a giant gamble. You can’t take it into the dressing room and try it on to see if it fits. You can’t look in a mirror to see if it feels right on you. Lying down on it in the showroom will not accurately predict how comfortable it will be for eight hours of sleep. And buying one online and having it shipped to you compressed in a box is one giant gamble.

    We needed to replace a 12-inch pillow-top mattress because it was just too heavy for my wife to change sheets. We sleep on a foam mattress at my daughter’s house that is the greatest, like sleeping on a cloud. So we chose to go with this eight-inch foam mattress to make changing sheets easier (it weighs only 45 pounds) and to achieve great sleep. We selected this one because in the title it is described as “Medium Plush” like my daughter’s mattress. What we failed to notice was further down in the description it says that it is “medium firm.” Well, it is very firm–like sleeping on the floor. It is not plush; it is very firm. We quickly ordered a three-inch foam mattress pad to put on top of it (because, how do you put that big thing back in the box to return it?), and now we are sleeping very comfortably.

    So, we gambled. We lost the first hand, but we managed to recoup our loss by playing a second hand.

    UPDATE: Customer service reached out to me after reading my review above with apologies and an offer to pay for the mattress pad that I bought. They also promised to take the words “medium plush” out of the title. I can’t say enough good things about their service. They want their customers to be satisfied and when that doesn’t happen they will bend over backwards to make it happen. So, let me be clear. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this mattress, other than the fact that my wife and I are not comfortable with its firmness. I never dreamed that a foam mattress could be this firm. If you like it firm, you will not be disappointed with this one. Rather than returning it, we fixed it so that it is now very comfortable for us. And customer service made us very happy with our decision. This is a most honorable company.

    If your very heavy then the mattress breaks down pretty fast. So not the quality I thought it would be. If your a smaller person or couple and like a firm bed then it would be great.

    Excellent product no more hip or lower back pain. I need one in a king size like months ago. Highly recommended will buy one for each of my bedrooms

    A little soft for my liking but really comfortable. It feels durable and well made. I have had it for about a year now and has held up well. If I were to buy it again I would go firm

    Excellent mattress, medium firmness. I guess I need a firmer one but it’s not the fault of the mattress. It’s well made and has a nice cover.

    Their support department reached out to me which I totally appreciate. Another reviewer who ironically found the mattress too firm said it best, buying on line is a chance. I accept responsibility for my individual needs for the right kind of mattress. I’ll keep looking.

    I bought this mattress 3 years ago and I had to move so it was just cheaper to buy a new one then move it and I love this thing. I’m kind of shocked how cheap it is. I got the 10 inch so I really can’t tell you if the 12 is different. This mattress is somewhat firm imo but the memory foam is just the perfect touch to not make it too firm. The quality is great, my old one had no issues so I probably would have kept that thing for another four years
